What blind.software is for

blind.software is a catalog and community space for software, add-ons, tools, guides, and services useful to blind creators and accessibility-minded developers. Visitors can browse and search. Members can submit, edit, and remove their own content from one account.

Browsing content

1. Open Showcase to search software entries.
2. Use filters such as category, pricing, source status, author status, and requirements.
3. The front page shows short cards only. Open a title to read full details, links, requirements, audio/video overview status, and source information.

Linking an app to your account

Some apps, such as the eCripto wallet, can link to your blind.software account. The app never gets your password or email address.

1. In the app, choose the option to link to blind.software. The app shows a code of 8 letters and numbers, like ABCD-2345.
2. Open blind.software/link and sign in. Some apps open this page for you with the code filled in.
3. Type the code and choose Continue.
4. Check that the code on the page matches the one in the app, then choose Allow. If you did not start linking yourself, choose Deny.

The code stops working after about 10 minutes. If it expires, start again in the app.

Seeing and unlinking your apps

1. Go to My account, then Settings.
2. Find the Linked apps heading. It lists each app, what it can do, and when it was last used.
3. Choose Unlink next to the app.

Unlinking an app also removes the wallet addresses it linked. Addresses added by other apps stay. You can also remove one address at a time under Linked wallet addresses. blind.software stores public addresses only, never wallet keys or recovery phrases.

Signing in to other apps with blind.software

Some apps, such as VoiceLink, have a Sign in with blind.software button. It uses your blind.software account instead of a separate password for that app.

1. In the app, choose Sign in with blind.software. Your browser opens blind.software.
2. If you are not signed in, sign in or join. You come straight back to the sign-in page afterwards.
3. The page says which app and server want you to sign in and what they will see: your account number and your name. Your email address is only shared if you tick Also share my email address.
4. Choose Continue to go back to the app, or Cancel to stop.

The first time you agree, blind.software remembers it, so next time you go straight back to the app. The app never gets your password.

To stop an app signing in with your account, go to My account, Settings, Linked apps and choose Unlink next to it. The app notices within about an hour, and devices it signed in with blind.software are signed out.

blind.software does not have two-factor sign-in yet. If the app has its own two-factor, such as VoiceLink, it still asks for your code.

Guest guide

Guests can browse public content, search the catalog, read public forum topics, and create an account when they are ready to submit or reply. The join form requires confirmation that a real person is joining, or that an approved agent is helping that person join.
